We understand that in a high-end fitness environment, lighting is a critical component of member performance and brand identity.

Our established relationships with UK-wide contractors and project managers ensure a seamless transition from the initial design phase to final installation. We work directly with you—whether you are an architect, interior designer, or project manager—to integrate technical lighting into the heart of your gym’s aesthetic. By choosing a collaborative approach, we ensure your facility benefits from a professional lighting schedule that meets both your creative vision and technical requirements.

High-Performance Products for Fitness Environments

We don’t just “shift boxes”, we provide engineered solutions designed for longevity in high-usage commercial environments.

  • Linear Light Systems: Our high-output LED and COB tapes provide seamless illumination for “gym ceiling lights,” effectively eliminating spotting.
  • Flexible Neons: Products like the Luciana or Vector mini neons allow you to highlight architectural curves, branding, or zone borders with precision.
  • Digital Pixel Tapes: For immersive zones, pixel tape allows individual control of each LED, creating flowing color chases and pulsing effects that simulate motion and keep users engaged.
  • Profiles & Heat Sinks: Every installation includes professional aluminum profiles to manage heat, which is essential for protecting your investment and increasing LED longevity.
  • Advanced Control Systems: We integrate industry-leading protocols including Casambi for flexible wireless mesh control, DMX for high-speed dynamic effects, and DALI for energy-efficient general lighting.

Flexible Neons:

Using products like the Vector mini neon or Lucerini Neons to highlight architectural curves, branding, or zone borders.

Digital Pixel Tapes:

Digital pixel tape takes standard LED lighting a step further by allowing each individual LED (or small group of LEDs) to be controlled independently, rather than the whole strip showing one solid colour. In a gym environment, this opens up a much more dynamic and immersive lighting experience.

In high-intensity zones—such as functional training areas, spin studios, or HIIT sections—this type of lighting can be programmed to create movement, patterns, and transitions that match the energy of the workout. Instead of static light, you can have flowing colour chases, pulsing effects, or reactive sequences that simulate motion across the space. This visually reinforces the pace and intensity of the activity, helping to keep users engaged and energised.

It also allows you to tailor the atmosphere throughout the day. For example, slower, smoother transitions can be used during warm-ups or lower-intensity sessions, while sharper, faster-moving effects can be activated during peak training times or classes. When synced with music or timers, digital pixel tape can even act as a visual cue system—guiding intervals, rest periods, or workout phases.

Overall, the use of digital pixel tape transforms lighting from a purely functional element into an active part of the gym experience—enhancing motivation, creating a premium feel, and helping different zones stand out with their own identity.

Control Systems:

In a gym environment, lighting control isn’t just about switching lights on and off—it’s about shaping the atmosphere, guiding user behaviour, and creating distinct zones with the right energy. The choice of control system plays a big role in how dynamic and flexible the space can be.

DMX, Casambi or RF Control (Dynamic control – performance-focused areas)

DMX is commonly used where you want fast, responsive, and visually impactful lighting. It’s ideal for spin studios, HIIT zones, and group training rooms. With DMX, you can control colour changes, dimming, strobing, and movement effects in real time. It works especially well when synced with music or instructor-led sessions, allowing lighting to pulse, chase, or shift intensity in line with the workout. This is what gives boutique-style gyms that high-energy, immersive feel.

Casambi offers a more flexible, wireless alternative while still delivering a high level of dynamic control. Operating via Bluetooth mesh, it removes the need for complex control wiring, making it particularly suitable for retrofit projects or spaces where cabling is restrictive. Through an app or wall-mounted interfaces, users can easily adjust scenes, colours, and brightness levels, or trigger pre-programmed lighting modes for different classes and times of day. It strikes a strong balance between performance and ease of installation, and can also integrate with DMX where more advanced effects are required.

Other RF-based control systems provide a straightforward and effective solution for managing colour-changing lighting in gym environments. Typically operated via handheld remotes or wall controllers, these systems allow users to select colours, adjust brightness, and switch between preset modes with minimal setup. They are well suited to smaller studios, personal training zones, or areas where simple scene control is sufficient without the need for complex programming or integration.

Pixel Control (advanced DMX for digital tape)

Pixel control builds on DMX by controlling individual LEDs within a strip (digital pixel tape). Instead of the whole strip being one colour, you can create animations—waves, chases, gradients, or even custom patterns moving through the space. In gyms, this is powerful for feature lighting: ceiling runs, wall lines, or architectural details that come alive during intense sessions. It turns lighting into a visual experience, not just illumination.

ALI, Mains Dimming & 0–10V (Functional and energy-efficient control)

DALI is more suited to general lighting—main gym floors, reception areas, changing rooms, and circulation spaces. It allows for precise dimming, grouping of fittings, and scene setting, but in a more structured and stable way than DMX. It’s commonly used for:
• Maintaining consistent light levels
• Adjusting brightness based on time of day
• Integrating with sensors (occupancy/daylight)
• Improving energy efficiency and compliance

Alongside DALI, mains dimming and 0–10V control offer additional, widely adopted approaches for standard lighting. These methods provide reliable dimming and straightforward group control, typically used where simpler control strategies are sufficient without the need for fully addressable systems. Together, they create a flexible range of solutions—from intelligent, networked control with DALI through to more conventional dimming approaches—depending on the requirements of the space.

Common Gym Lighting Mistakes (And How We Avoid Them)

Achieving a premium finish requires more than just high-quality tape; it requires technical foresight.

  • Eliminating Glare: The “golden rule” of gym lighting is shielding the light source from the user’s direct line of sight. This is essential for members on weight benches or yoga mats who would otherwise be blinded by exposed LEDs.
  • Flicker-Free Performance: We utilize high-quality drivers to prevent flickering. This is crucial not only for member comfort but also for filming high-quality video content for social media.
  • Installation Precision: To reduce onsite errors and labor costs, we provide custom-cut, pre-soldered, and labeled tails. This ensures the electrical contractor can install the system quickly and accurately.

Consistency (Binning): We maintain tight control over colour matching (binning) to ensure that every light across your facility remains uniform in colour over time.

We also specialise in secondary illumination, highlighting bar fronts, wine racks, and gantries. By using high Colour Rendering Index (CRI 95+) LEDs, we ensure the colours of your food, decor, and high-end spirits—like single malts or champagnes—appear vibrant and true to life.
